Born into a musical family, Brenden began playing piano at the age of five and studied classical music for 13 years under the guidance of his father, the retired Concertmaster of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
At fourteen, his passion shifted to jazz, drawn by the freedom and creativity of improvisation. He went on to earn a BFA in Jazz Piano Performance from The New School in Manhattan, NY, where he immersed himself in the vibrant New York jazz scene.
Since graduating, Brenden has performed in countless settings — from solo piano concerts to big band performances — on stages across the country.
In 2014, he founded Jazz Piano School, which has since grown into one of the leading online jazz piano education platforms in the world. Found at https://jazzpianoschool.com. Through this work, he has helped thousands of students unlock the art of jazz piano. He also coaches musicians in business, teaching the same strategies that allowed him to build a thriving career doing what he loves.
Brenden currently serves as the music director and leader of Solabel, a genre-blending band that combines jazz, soul, folk, and beyond.
